Brant Park Prescribed Burn

The Brant Park prescribed burn was conducted on April 25th, 2019 by Lands and Forests Consulting for the Grand River Conservation Authority. The Brant Park Prairie Prescribed Burn has been proposed by the Grand River Conversation Authority to take place again during the spring of 2019. This process is part of a management plan that involves a burn frequency of once every 4-5 years to maintain a healthy ecosystem of several tall grass prairie species belonging to an old open meadow complex. The site was once subject to a wildfire several years ago, post fire several native species have re-established within this area.

This is the fifth application of prescribed fire on this site. The last time it was burnt was in the spring of 2015. The Drone It team looks forward to film long future prescribed burns.
